Informed Consent Made Understandable

If you write, read, explain, review, or are otherwise involved with informed consent forms, the Readability Toolkit is an invaluable resource. It contains step-by-step guidelines for writing informed consents at a reading level required by many funding agencies (4th-8th grade).

The Toolkit contains many simple synonyms for technical terminology and phrases, exercises, and links to many additional resources. It was prepared by the Research Communication staff at Group Health Center for Health Studies in Seattle with support from the National Institutes of Health.

A printed copy is on reserve in the library.
