Newly Accessible Springer and Taylor & Francis E-Journals

Thanks to recent Springer and Taylor & Francis package deals at little additional cost, UTHSC faculty, residents, staff and students now have access to an additional 883 journal titles.  Coverage is generally from 1997 to present.

PubMed Tip: Try “UT Links” if “UT Full-Text” Doesn’t Work

The UTHSC Library Link Resolver:  has been added as an option in PubMed in the upper right corner of every abstract page when accessed from the library homepage.

   will continue to appear when available, however there are some articles where the link provided by Pubmed is not successfully linking, especially when off-campus.  

So, if UT Full-Text doesn’t work, try clicking on UT Links.

Off-Campus Access Unavailable: 9:15pm, Friday, October 30, 2015

Off-campus library access will be interrupted at approximately 9:15 pm on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 to install an update on the ezproxy server. Downtime is estimated to be 10-15 minutes.

E-Journals List changing to E-Journals Finder

The E-Journals List ( available on the library’s home page under Popular Resources will be changing to E-Journals Finder on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

Advantages of the updated interface include:

  • Faster response!
  • Predictive, auto suggestion search, as you type.

The default browsing list of titles A-Z is gone, however EBSCO says this new searching platform reduces time to finding a journal from 2.5 minutes to just seconds. Browsing journal titles by discipline is available, however searching by journal title will be more common and useful.

Online Library Resources Currently Unavailable – Dec. 11, 2014

UPDATE: As of 10:10am, ezproxy server has been restored and library resources are available once again., the server that controls library access to databases, ejournals and ebooks is unexpectedly down today, Thursday, December 11, 2014.

ITS is aware of the issue and is working to restore service as soon as possible.

E-Journal List, UT Links, E-Journal Links from Catalog Slow or Unresponsive

UPDATE: As of Tuesday afternoon (11/11/2014) , EBSCO services continue to be slow or unresponsive. The vendor is continuing to work to resolve the issue.

Several services from EBSCO are unresponsive or very slow this morning (Monday, Nov. 10, 2014).

Included are:

  • E-Journal List
  • Link resolver (UT Links)
  • Links to e-journals from the library catalog

Other customers not just UTHSC are affected. Vendor support is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Annual Review and Taylor & Francis Online Temporarily Unavailable This Weekend

On Saturday, March 1, 2014 beginning at 10:00AM, the Annual Reviews’ website and Taylor & Francis Online, two of the providers of our electronic journals, will experience routine maintenance to its’ data storage and platform upgrade. The work is expected to take up to 16 hours to end around 2:00AM, Sunday, March 2, 2014, during which time you can expect their websites to be unavailable. Both technical support teams are apologizing in advance for any inconveniences.
